Insurance FAQs
Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance at this time but we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.
What are superbills?
Superbills are detailed invoices that contain the billing and procedure codes of your child’s treatment. Superbills are typically sent to families at the end of the month and after all payments are received. These detailed invoices are needed for insurance companies to process claims and reimburse you depending on your insurance plan.
What is out-of-network?
Health care providers can either be in-network or out-of-network. In-network providers have contracts with certain health insurance companies whereas out-of-network providers do not.
Why is District Kids PT an out-of-network provider?
District Kids PT chooses not to participate with insurance contracts as they tend to be limiting to the healthcare providers. These contracts can be restricting of the time and number of sessions allowed and require significant administration time which limits the number of patients that can be cared for.
Do I need a referral/prescription for physical therapy?
No, your child does not need a referral to initiate a physical therapy evaluation and treatment. However, sometimes insurance companies will ask for a referral to submit claims so we ask that you receive one from your child’s pediatrician. Also, we like to be in contact with your child’s pediatrician so we can work collaboratively and ensure the best possible care for your child.
